Most of us tend to think Queen Bey can do no wrong. However, that wasn’t quite the case for some, after the pop icon — and her daughter, Blue Ivy — flew into the Grand Canyon on a helicopter, and shut off access to everyone else.
One visitor to the National Park, who allegedly waited over a year for passes, was disappointed that her trip was cut short for the musician’s visit, and took to Twitter to air her outrage.
“Wow so people at the Grand Canyon that made reservations a year in advance for three days to be able to see the beautiful waterfall can only go two days because the stupid Beyoncé in her video who does she think she is #beehive sucks [sic],” the post read.
Clearly, this is not the kind of behaviour you would expect when you’re promised the ‘Hollywood treatment’.
The Grammy winner was there to film a music video to her new single ‘Spirit’ which comes straight from The Lion King soundtrack.
Another Twitter user scorned the mega star for not acknowledging the native people of the area.
“Disappointing they blocked the only trail to the waterfalls and we leave today. We waited over a year for passes. Bey didn’t even come into the village and thank the Havasupai people,” she said.
With her star flying high with not only her wildly successful music career and Superbowl performance, but also a major role in the new Lion King movie, fame may just have blinded Queen Bey to the struggles of us common folk.
We’re yet to see any members of the Beyhive come to her defence but have no doubt that Beyoncé will continue to be just as popular and adored as she was before.
